Calcium carbonate, Tums, Rolaids, Pepto Bismol, Pepcid, or generic/store brand chewable antacid tablets that contain calcium carbonate.

Minimally toxic

Antacid Tablets are minimally toxic. If your child ate antacid tablets, give them a few sips of water.

If your child experiences symptoms, or ate Pepto Bismol Tablets call IPC immediately at 1-800-222-1222.

Possible Symptoms

There are usually no symptoms from eating antacid tablets, but your child may experience constipation.

What To Do

If your child is not having symptoms, give them a few sips of water.

If your child experiences symptoms, or ate Pepto Bismol Tablets call IPC immediately at 1-800-222-1222.

What It Is

Calcium carbonate tablets neutralize stomach acid to relieve mild heartburn or indigestion. These tablets often come in sweet, fruit flavors.
Note: Pepto Bismol chewables contain extra ingredients. If Pepto Bismol has been swallowed, call IPC at 1-800-222-1222.
