Toxicity Level

What are toxicity levels?

Bubbles are minimally toxic.

Because bubbles are essentially liquid soap, no symptoms are expected aside from mild stomach irritation. If your child is not having symptoms, give them a few sips of water and watch for vomiting.

Symptoms of Poisoning

While there are usually no symptoms from eating bubbles, they may cause stomach irritation. Your child may develop nausea, an episode of vomiting and loose stools.

If your child experiences more than one episode of vomiting, call IPC at 1-800-222-1222.

Eye Exposure

  • Bubbles may cause irritation if exposed to eyes.
  • If your child got bubbles in their eyes, rinse by pouring clean, lukewarm water across the affected eye(s) for 15 minutes.
